A 36-year-old woman chopped off her paramour’s penis with a kitchen knife in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district after she caught him “red-handed” trying to rape her minor daughter.

The woman narrated to the police that the accused also tried to attack her as she stepped in his way of committing the crime, The Times of India reported.

The woman said that her live-in partner, with whom she was residing for 2 years, attempted to sexually assault her daughter while she was away at the farm for work. In her bid to save her 14-year-old daughter, she took the extreme step and grabbed the kitchen knife.

“I have no regrets,” she told the police

The 32-year-old accused has been booked for rape under the relevant sections of the POCSO act, the police told the TOI, adding that he is critical after sustaining the injuries and may be moved to Lucknow for further treatment.

Last year, in a similar incident, a woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Ramnagar allegedly chopped off her husband’s genitals after he raped her. The couple was married in 2019 and after a brief separation period had been living together now.

In March, last year, another woman from Madhya Pradesh had reportedly cut off the penis of a man who allegedly attempted to rape her when she was alone at home with her teen son. The man intruded and made advances at her.

To save herself from the crime, she picked up a sickle from under a bed and defended herself. A case was registered against both parties.
