’12th Fail’ makers get Rs 30 lakh under Delhi Film Policy

Under the policy, around 20 applications are expected to be accepted for film-shooting permissions through the e-Film Clearance portal in 2025-26.

The makers of acclaimed Hindi film ’12th Fail’ have been given a subsidy under the Delhi Film Policy, 2022, as part of the Delhi government’s efforts to promote the national capital as a film-shooting destination.

The subsidy was handed over to the film’s production team, VC Films, in the presence of Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, according to a post shared by him on X.

“The film ’12th Fail’ has been given a subsidy of Rs 30,08,464 under the Delhi Film Policy,” Mishra said, adding that the initiative would help attract filmmakers to Delhi and make film production in the city easier.

Since the launch of the policy, around 39 films and web series have been shot under its framework till 2025, according to an official of the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), which oversees the policy.

Under the policy, around 20 applications are expected to be accepted for film-shooting permissions through the e-Film Clearance portal in 2025-26.

The portal received 10 applications in 2024-25.

The Delhi Film Policy provides financial incentives to eligible productions for shooting in the national capital and aims to promote Delhi as a preferred destination for filmmakers.
