Students affiliated with AISA and other Left organisations on Monday marched from Barakhamba Road towards Supreme Court, raising slogans to press for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, hours after Delhi Police denotified the site as a designated venue for protests
This comes as opposition MPs and leaders of the INDIA bloc on Monday afternoon started their “march for democracy” to the Supreme Court to submit a petition on their “vote chori” charge and against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Members of the student outfits who were part of the march to Supreme Court raised slogans such as “Gyanesh Kumar ko jail bhejo (send Gyanesh Kumar to jail)” and “SIR toh nahi chalega (SIR won’t work)”.

The Left organisations, including All India Students’ Association (AISA), have been taking out marches towards Jantar Mantar the past two days amid heightened security in central Delhi, following two days of protests that saw mass detentions of demonstrators demanding Kumar’s resignation.
The area around Jantar Mantar is heavily barricaded with a huge police presence in the area. Authorities have so far foiled all attempts by protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar which was on Monday denotified as a designated protest site.
