CBSE class 10 results declared

Over 1.99 lakh candidates have scored above 90 per cent marks, while 45,516 candidates have scored above 95 per cent

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the Class 10 board exam results, with more than 93 per cent of students successfully clearing the exams. Girls outperformed boys by over two percentage points, according to Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examinations.

This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 93.66 per cent, a slight increase from last year’s 93.60 per cent.

Among female candidates, the pass percentage was 95 per cent, while 92.63 per cent of boys cleared the exam. The performance of transgender candidates also saw an improvement, with 95 per cent passing compared to 91.30 per cent last year.

Over 1.99 lakh students scored above 90 per cent, and 45,516 candidates secured more than 95 per cent marks. However, more than 1.41 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category.

A total of 23,71,939 students appeared for the CBSE Class 10 board exams this year.

Following the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated students of both Class 10 and Class 12 on their achievements. In a post on X, he wrote:

“Heartiest congratulations to everyone who has cleared the CBSE Class XII and X examinations! This is the outcome of your determination, discipline and hard work. Today is also a day to acknowledge the role played by parents, teachers and all others who have contributed to this feat.”

Offering words of encouragement to those disappointed with their scores, he added:

“One exam can never define you. Your journey is much bigger and your strengths go far beyond the mark sheet. Stay confident, stay curious because great things await.”
