A Delhi Court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till May 7 in the money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court passed the order, directing Kejriwal to appear via video conferencing on May 7 at 2 PM.

Kejriwal, arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), faces allegations of being the “key conspirator” in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy.

The ED’s investigation follows a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 17, 2022, based on a complaint from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

The case alleges irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy for 2021-22, implicating AAP leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. (With inputs from PTI)
