As per the norms outlined by the National Green Tribunal, Delhi Development Authority is conducting an anti-encroachment drive in the Yamuna Flood Zone. The area is environmentally-sensitive.
Officials have stated that the aim of the drive is to get rid of the “shanties” and other structures that were constructed and raised illegally.
The DDA conducted a similar drive at the end of 2015 to remove encroachment in an area of 100 acres which falls under the flood zone.
