Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 18.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 1.5 degrees below the seasonal average, with humidity at 43 per cent at 8:30 AM.
The maximum temperature is expected to touch 39 degrees Celsius, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions over the next two days.
According to the IMD’s six-day outlook, the capital is likely to see maximum temperatures ranging between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius during this period.
Air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 198 at 9 AM, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). An AQI between 101 and 200 is classified as ‘moderate’.

On Saturday, Delhi recorded a high of 35.7 degrees Celsius—1.7 degrees above normal—and a minimum of 19.5 degrees Celsius, slightly above the seasonal average. Humidity that morning was 47 per cent. The AQI at 6 PM stood at 161, also in the ‘moderate’ range.
The IMD has forecast a mainly clear sky with continued heatwave conditions, and temperatures on Sunday are expected to hover around 39 degrees Celsius during the day and 20 degrees Celsius at night.
