Education Minister Atishi announced the release of the first-ever results of the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) examinations for Classes 10 and 12.
The results revealed that out of the 1,594 students in Class 10, 1,582 appeared in both term-end assessments, while eight students failed to achieve the qualifying grade point of 3. These students will be given another opportunity to improve their grades through a supplementary assessment after a month.
Similarly, in Class 12, a total of 672 students registered for the board exams, with 667 students appearing in both term-end assessments. Among them, five students did not meet the qualifying grade point requirement. They will also be given a chance to enhance their grades through a supplementary assessment.
The DBSE, established in 2021, introduced 20 specialized excellence schools in four domains: STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, and High-End 21st Century Skills.
These schools aimed to promote specialized education in secondary and senior secondary classes. Students were admitted to Class 9 across all domains and Class 11 in the STEM domain through an aptitude test.
The DBSE Secondary Certificate Assessment (SCA) and the DBSE Senior Secondary Certificate Assessment (SSCA) were conducted in two terms. The second term-end assessments took place between March 10 and March 29 for Class 10 and between March 10 and March 27 for Class 12.
During a press conference, Minister Atishi described this moment as a landmark achievement. She highlighted the focus on providing world-class education, with 25% of Delhi’s budget allocated to education each year.
“Over the past eight years, this budget has led to significant improvements in the quality of textbooks and uniforms,” she said, adding that in recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of students transitioning from private schools to government schools in Delhi.
