A fire broke out at an electronics showroom in Janakpuri area of west Delhi early Wednesday, prompting the deployment of 13 fire tenders, the Delhi Fire Service said.
The fire was reported at 4:15 AM at the Vijay Sales showroom in Janakpuri, a DFS officer said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
“Three water tenders and six water bowsers were initially rushed to the spot. As the blaze intensified, more vehicles were pressed into service,” he said.
The blaze was brought under control at around 6: 30 am, and a cooling operation was underway at the scene, the officer said.
According to the DFS, the fire engulfed electronic goods, furniture and items in the basement, ground floor and three upper floors of the building, spanning around 350 square yards.
“No casualty or injury was reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained,” the DFS officer added.
