Officials on Wednesday said that the Delhi government will set up a center for sustainable urban mobility with Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT Delhi).

Ashish Kundra, Transport Commissioner,  took to Twitter on Tuesday and said that a memorandum of understanding was signed with IIIT Delhi.  Urban mobility problems to be addressed in partnership with academia, he wrote.

Several initiatives of the government such as open transit data, integration of bus data with Google maps, and One Delhi app were also supported by IIIT Delhi team, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said.

Gahlot is confident that the collaboration will help the Capital achieve more breakthroughs in technically-advanced and reliable transport.
