The Delhi government has announced that Chhath on Sunday will be observed as a ‘dry day,’ directing all liquor shops in the city to remain closed during the festival.

As per an order released by the Excise department on Thursday, all liquor vends will not operate on Sunday, recognised as Surya Shashti (Chhath Puja).

Chhath is a significant festival revered by individuals from Purvanchal (Eastern UP) and Bihar residing in Delhi, dedicated to worshipping the Sun.
