Delhi: A tragic incident occurred in southeast Delhi’s Tuglakabad area early Friday morning when a portion of the roof of a family home collapsed, resulting in the death of a two-month-old infant and injuries to five other family members. The accident took place in Churiya Mohalla around 3 a.m. while the family was asleep, according to police reports.
The family, consisting of Sonu Bhure Khan, his wife, and their three children aged nine, five, and four, were inside their single-storey home when the roof caved in. The residence, located in a narrow lane, is part of an old construction, which may have contributed to the structural failure.
Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion and helped in the rescue efforts before the police and emergency services arrived. The collapse left the family trapped under debris until they were pulled out by local residents and authorities.

The injured family members were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. According to medical staff, Sonu Bhure Khan and his wife sustained severe injuries, while their children are also being closely monitored for any complications.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse, focusing on the structural integrity of the house and the surrounding buildings.
