Services on a portion of the Delhi Metro’s Red Line were disrupted for about three hours on Tuesday due to issues with overhead equipment between the Pratap Nagar and Shastri Nagar stations, Delhi Metro officials said.
The Red Line of the Delhi Metro links Rithala in Delhi to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
Officials said that from 1:04 pm to 3:51 pm on Tuesday, train operations were affected on a small stretch between Tis Hazari and Inderlok, as a section of the contact wire between Pratap Nagar and Shastri Nagar stations was damaged or broken.

During this time, normal services were maintained between the Rithala and Inderlok stations with trains running in a loop on both Up and Down lines, officials added.
Single-line operations were carried out between Inderlok and Tis Hazari stations on the Up line, while the Down line between Pratap Nagar and Shastri Nagar was undergoing repairs. However, regular train services continued from Tis Hazari to Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda).

By 3:51 pm, the repair work was completed, and services on the entire Red Line were restored, officials confirmed. (With inputs from PTI)
