In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received 1,22,729 applications for ownership rights under the PM-UDAY

As of July 16 this year, a total of 23,811 individuals have received ownership rights to their properties under the Pradhan Mantri Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY), according to information shared with the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

In a written response to a question, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu stated that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received 1,22,729 applications for ownership rights under the PM-UDAY scheme.

“The number of people granted ownership rights under the PM-UDAY scheme as of July 16 is 23,811,” said the minister.

In 2019, the Union Cabinet approved a proposal to provide ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies, followed by the passage of a bill in Parliament to formalise these rights.

Following this, the Central government launched the PM-UDAY scheme, allowing residents of these colonies to apply for ownership rights of their properties.

In response to another question, Sahu reported that the DDA has disbursed Rs 2,173.81 crore towards projects approved under the Urban Development Fund (UDF) over the past five years, from 2019-20 to 2023-24.

He added that there are currently 22 projects in the implementation stage under the UDF, based on available reports. (With inputs from PTI)
