Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, marginally below the seasonal average by 0.5 degrees, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by rain on Thursday and Friday, with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 37 degrees Celsius.
At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was measured at 74 per cent.
The capital’s air quality remained in the “moderate” category on Thursday morning, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 157, data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed.

As per CPCB guidelines, an AQI between 101 and 200 falls under the “moderate” range, while levels between 0–50 are considered “good”, 51–100 “satisfactory”, 201–300 “poor”, 301–400 “very poor”, and 401–500 “severe”.
Light rain on Wednesday evening helped bring down temperatures across the city. The maximum temperature settled at 36.5 degrees Celsius, 2.8 degrees below normal, while the minimum was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius, 0.3 degrees below the seasonal average, the IMD reported.
