According to data from the health department, Delhi recorded 2,419 Covid cases on Friday, the most in the previous six months, with a positive rate of 12.95%. Two additional persons also passed away as a result of the illness.
The number of COVID-19 cases daily exceeded 2,000 for the third day in a row.
The disease claimed the lives of four more people on Thursday, bringing the total number of Covid cases in Delhi to 2,202, with a positive rate of 11.84 percent.
Additionally, this was the fourth straight day that the positive rate exceeded 10%.
The new cases resulted from 18,685 Covid tests that were performed in the city on Thursday.
Delhi recorded 2,073 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with a positive rate of 11.64%. The number of fatalities reported on Wednesday was the biggest since the city’s COVID-19 death toll of six on June 25.
With 822 cases and two fatalities, Delhi on Monday reported a positive rate of 11.41 percent. The city had 1,263 COVID-19 instances the day prior, with a positive rate of 9.35 percent.
The city recorded 1,333 cases on Saturday, with a positive rate of 8.39% and three fatalities from the virus.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad reported 365 Covid cases, while the state of Telangana recorded overall 984 new cases, taking the overall caseload in the state to 8,24,708.
Chhattisgarh reported 435 new cases at a positivity rate of 4.24 per cent, while three people died due to the illness.
Among other cities, Chennai reported the maximum of 247 infections followed by Coimbatore – 130.
