IMD’s Weather Update
A western disturbance over Pakistan has contributed to a decline in both minimum and maximum temperatures across Delhi-NCR in the last 24 hours. The IMD has also issued warnings for snowfall and heavy rainfall in the northern hill states, impacting the weather in the plains. This change has resulted in cooler conditions in Delhi, particularly during the morning and evening, with light rain and chilly winds adding to the winter-like feel.
Air Quality in Delhi
Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category on Thursday. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded an AQI of 123 at 7 am, slightly higher than Wednesday’s 113 at the same time. By 4 pm, the city’s 24-hour average AQI stood at 119. As pollution levels showed signs of improvement, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) lifted Stage-I restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
