Cold weather conditions continued in Delhi on Monday, with parts of the city experiencing light rainfall and temperatures dropping to a low of 9.6 degrees Celsius, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The fog cover diminished, enhancing visibility on roads during the morning hours.
Dense fog in the city had significantly reduced morning visibility to zero on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, resulting in flight cancellations, diversions, and train delays.
At 8:30 am, the Safdarjung observatory, Delhi’s primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees higher than the normal for this time of year, according to the IMD.
Visibility at Safdarjung and Palam was 300 meters at 5:30 am, the IMD added.
Several parts of the city saw light rain during the morning.

The weather department forecasted generally cloudy skies with light rain throughout the day and issued a ‘yellow’ warning for dense fog.
The maximum temperature in Delhi was expected to reach 18 degrees Celsius, as per the IMD.
At 9 am, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 320, categorized as ‘very poor’ by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The AQI scale is as follows: 0-50 is ‘good’, 51-100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 is ‘moderate’, 201-300 is ‘poor’, 301-400 is ‘very poor’, and 401-500 is ‘severe’.
On Sunday, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) lifted Stage 3 restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR, as the region saw an improvement in air quality due to favourable meteorological conditions, particularly enhanced wind speed.
However, restrictions under Stage 1 and Stage 2 of GRAP remain enforced across Delhi-NCR.
