A 28-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her brother-in-law in southwest Kapashera area of Delhi, authorities said on Thursday.
A police control room (PCR) call was received at 10:38 pm on Wednesday about the murder, according to an official.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman’s body inside a residence, showing stab wounds.
The 32-year-old suspect, the victim’s brother-in-law, had fled the scene. Crime and forensic teams inspected the area, collecting evidence, the officer said.
A murder case has been registered, and an investigation has been launched.

During the probe, it emerged that the accused had an illicit relationship with the victim, and the two had argued on Wednesday, the officer added.
The victim was employed as a receptionist in a private firm, while her husband works for an online product company, police said.
They added that the suspect is also employed in his brother’s business.
Multiple police teams were deployed to track down the suspect.
On Thursday morning, around 8:30 am, Delhi Cantt Railway Police reported finding an unidentified injured man near Bijwasan Railway Station, who was taken to Safdarjung Hospital.
After investigation, the man was identified as the suspect in the Kapashera murder case, another official confirmed.
He was hospitalized in critical condition.
Authorities are investigating whether he was struck by a train or attacked. The investigation continues. (With inputs from PTI)
