Man stabbed to death during argument over gutka price in Delhi

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by a tea seller during a dispute over the price of gutka in northwest Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi area on Friday, police said.

The victim was identified as Nazim, a driver from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur.

Nazim had an argument with a 19-year-old tea seller, Rahul, a resident of Delhi’s Libaspur, over the price of gutka, an officer said.

“The dispute escalated into a physical altercation during which the accused stabbed Nazim with a knife,” the officer said.

Nazim was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.

The accused has been apprehended and the weapon of offence has been recovered, they said.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, they said.
