The results for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) were released by the National Testing Agency on Tuesday.
Atishi stated at a press conference that 1,414 students from Delhi government schools cleared the NEET-UG this year.
This number has been steadily increasing. In 2020, a total of 569 students qualified, and this year’s figure is nearly two-and-a-half times higher.
She highlighted that 255 students from the STEM stream of the Arvind Kejriwal government’s flagship Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence appeared for NEET-UG, and 243 of them qualified.
“I believe no school in the entire country or any big institute with extensive advertisements would have achieved such a remarkable success rate of 95 per cent. This year, students from 12 Dr BR Ambedkar Schools of Specialized Excellence, where students prepare for medical exams in the STEM stream, appeared for NEET. Out of these, six schools achieved a 100 per cent result — every student who appeared for NEET qualified,” Atishi said.
“The Delhi chief minister consistently emphasises that for any country to develop, it is crucial for the government to provide quality education to every child, regardless of their economic background. I am pleased that in Delhi, even the poorest children can now not only dream but also achieve those dreams,” she added. (With inputs from PTI)
