Rain likely in Delhi

Delhi is likely to receive rain and thunderstorms on Thursday under a yellow alert, while air quality remains in the moderate category despite above-normal temperatures

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 29.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday, with the weather office issuing a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorm.

Station-wise data showed a minimum temperature of 27.6 degrees Celsius at Palam, 0.4 degrees above normal; 28.4 degrees Celsius at Lodhi Road, 1.4 degrees above normal; 27.5 degrees Celsius at Ridge, 1.4 degrees above normal; and 28.4 degrees Celsius at Ayanagar, 2.3 degrees above normal.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 38 degrees Celsius.

Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 147, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”.
