Two Delhi Police officers killed in accident

Two Delhi Police officers succumbed following a collision between their car and a truck near the Kundali border in Haryana’s Sonipat district, officials said on Tuesday.

The tragic incident took place approximately at 11:30 pm on Monday, according to reports.

The deceased officers have been identified as Inspector Dinesh Beniwal from the Special Staff of the Northwest district and ATO Inspector Ranveer, stationed at the Adarsh Nagar police station. They were commuting to their homes in Sonipat in a private vehicle, the police said.

The bodies have been dispatched for post-mortem examination,  senior Haryana Police official said.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the officers’ car collided with a stationary truck, obscured by dense fog, the official further added.
