A newly constructed four-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Burari area on Monday evening, leaving two people dead, police said. The incident took place near Oscar Public School.
So far, 12 people have been rescued from the debris, but officials fear more may still be trapped. “Two people have been found dead so far, and 12 have been rescued,” a police officer stated, confirming that rescue operations are ongoing.
The Delhi Police received information about the collapse at around 7 pm. The building, spread across 200 square yards, was recently constructed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (North Delhi) Raja Banthia told reporters that we received information that labourers were trapped inside the building, we expect many people still trapped.
“In Kaushik Enclave of Burari, a newly constructed four-storey building in 200 square yards area has collapsed. Police and fire teams reached the spot immediately. We got information that labourers were trapped inside the building. So far two bodies were recovered and 12 people have been rescued. We expect around 12-15 people to be trapped,” he said.

“Rescue operation is currently underway,” DCP Banthia added.
Rescue teams, including the Delhi Fire Service and other emergency responders, are working to clear the debris and search for survivors. Further updates are awaited as the situation unfolds.
