The accused had allegedly fired at a businessman's Rani Bagh house of north Delhi, police said

Two sharpshooters from the Kaushal Chaudhary-Bambiha gang, wanted for firing at a businessman’s residence in Delhi, were apprehended following a shootout, police said on Tuesday.

The suspects had allegedly targeted the businessman’s house in Rani Bagh, North Delhi.

Bilal Ansari, 22, and Shuheb, 21, both from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested early Tuesday during a planned stakeout, according to the police.

“On the night between October 28 and 29, a team received confidential information that the shooters would be in the Kakrola area to meet their associates,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pranav Tayal.

A stakeout was set near the Kakrola drainage road towards Najafgarh, and around 2:15 am, the police team noticed two individuals on a motorcycle.

The officers signalled for them to stop, but the rider attempted a U-turn and fell.

“When surrounded, they drew their pistols, and one fired at the raiding team. The team returned fire in self-defence, injuring one suspect in the right leg, who was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital,” Tayal explained.

On October 26, around 8:20 PM, Ansari and Shuheb had allegedly fired multiple shots at the businessman’s residence, leaving a slip with the names of Kaushal Chaudhary, Pawan Shokeen, and the Bambhia Gang.
