The planning department has appealed to all citizens of Delhi to stay away from any rumour mongers, who would try to take advantage of situation arising from the arrest of Delhi CM, by spreading misinformation

The Delhi government on Tuesday appealed to citizens not to succumb to misinformation being spread by individuals with malicious intentions who are seeking to exploit the situation arising from the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

A statement issued by the Planning Department cautioned against “speculations and rumours being disseminated by certain parties with vested interests in Delhi,” particularly suggesting that “welfare schemes and subsidies provided by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi will cease.”

“While the legal process unfolds in the ongoing criminal investigation, it is essential to clarify that the administration of schemes and governance transcends individuals and will continue uninterrupted, as it has in the past,” the statement emphasized.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last week in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. He remains in ED custody until March 28. (With inputs from PTI)
