Woman, two daughters killed in south Delhi house fire

A woman and her two daughters were killed after a fire engulfed their third-floor home in South Delhi

Three people, including a woman and her two daughters, were killed after a fire broke out in a residential building in Lodhi Road area of south Delhi on Tuesday, officials said.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said it received a call at 10.21 am informing about fire at a house opposite Chawla Sweets in BK Dutt Colony under the Lodhi Road police station limits.

One water tender, one water bowser and one breathing apparatus tender to the spot. The blaze had engulfed a house on the third floor of the building, a DFS official said.

“The firefighters found three bodies, belonging to a woman and her two daughters, on the third floor,” the official said.

The fire was brought under control at 11.10 am, while cooling operations continued to prevent any rekindling of the flames, he said.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

The cause of the fire was also not immediately known.
