Amar Jyoti – an ode to the heroes

Distinguished Indian classical artists will perform on August 21 at the Kamani Auditorium, in a heartfelt musical ode honouring the bravery and sacrifice of the unknown soldiers who laid their lives for India, to showcase the power of music in evoking emotions and bringing people together.

The event, ‘Amar Jyoti’ is organised by The Tabla Wizard Pandit Chaturlal Memorial Society.

Prominent artist like Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia (on the flute), together with Debopriya Ranadive, Vaishnavi, and Ustad Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa on the Tabla, will leave the audience spellbound.

Besides, there will be Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt, a Grammy Award winner, on the Mohan Veena accompanied by Tantri Samrat Pt. Salil Bhatt on the Satvik Veena, together with the prince of Tabla, Pranshu Chatur Lal, who is famously known as Prince of Tabla.

It is sponsored by Powergrid and Indian Oil and co-sponsored by NTPC and Oil India Ltd., and Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport is the Hospitality Partner.

Host Shruti ChaturLal Sharma said, “The ‘Amar Jyoti’ tribute is a sincere effort to pay respect to the unsung heroes who have devoted their lives to defending our nation. The evening will be a blend of soul-stirring melodies and rhythmic harmonies, orchestrated to commemorate the spirit of our brave soldiers. The event aims to bring together music enthusiasts and patriots alike in a united expression of gratitude towards those who have laid down their lives for our nation.” To add, the founder of the society Pandit Charanjit ChaturLal says, “This 2023 is the 26th year of Amar Jyoti and we can’t thank enough the rasikas, the connoisseurs of Indian music who have supported us and been with us all these years. Our audience makes our concert memorable!”

Chief guests: General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Air Staff, will grace the occasion.
