A galaxy of performers from variou corners of India will take the stage during a two-day Indian classical music festival ‘Colours of India’ in Delhi’s Triveni Kala Sangam. Organised by Swaranjali Delhi, keeping with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the festival will be a memorable event, curated by Subrata De, at 205 Tansen Marg.

The renowned Carnatic veena player, Vidhushi Jayalakshmi Sekhar, will perform with Trichy Dr K Murali on Ghatam and Kumbakonam N Padmanaban from Chennai on Mridangam, before vocal recitals by Ravi Pal from Delhi, Pradip Kumar Sarkar on tabla, Lalit Sisodia on harmonium, and Pt. Soumitra Thakur from Delhi, accompanied by Pt. Durjay Bhaumik on tabla. They will be followed by performances by Trichy Dr K Murali on Ghatam and Kumbakonam N.

Amitava Sen of Jamshedpur will perform a solo recital on the tabla with Juned Khan playing the sarangi before Subhasis Bose of Kolkata plays the hansaveena with Pt Susamoy Mishra. Dr Tanuja Nafde of Nagpur will then sing with Lalit Sisodia on the harmonium.
Swaranjali is an organisation for the promotion of Indian music and its budding artists. It was registered under the Society Act of the Delhi Government in December 2003 and is known for organizing many concerts of Indian classical music and dance in various cities in India. Every year Swaranjali hosts – “Gharana Festival”, “ Pravasi Bharatiya Sangeet Nrittya Mahotsav”, Shraddhanjali, “Murchhana Festival” etc. In association with Sahitya Kala Parishad, Sangeet Natak Academy, India Habitat Centre, Pracheen kala Kendra, ICCR, Zonal Cultural Centres, Ministry of Culture, MNC and many others.
A group of students of Indian classical music and dance formed the organization with the goal of giving them a forum to discuss the many disciplines and artistic genres and to foster teamwork.
