Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi is hosting Dream Vision, a major solo exhibition by Russian master artist Nikas Safronov, on view from December 7 to 21, 2025. The exhibition is part of a larger cultural initiative supported by Rosneft Oil Company, positioning art as a bridge for international dialogue.
Bringing 100 works spanning several decades, Safronov presents classical painting, symbolism, landscapes, and his signature style Dream Vision—a visual language whose technique remains uniquely his own. For the India showcase, he has created a special series inspired by Indian history, architecture, religion, and mythology.
“Art must become multipolar—accessible and understandable to everyone,” says Safronov. “I want to create an alternative to Western cultural domination and build strong humanitarian ties between nations.”
The exhibition’s central premise is the fusion of tradition and technology. Divided into 15 thematic zones, the show uses artificial intelligence and contemporary multimedia systems to animate the artworks, allowing viewers to feel as though they are stepping inside the paintings. Spatial sound design further deepens the sensory experience, guiding the audience through emotional and philosophical layers of the work.
According to Safronov, AI is not an add-on but a “co-creator” that helps illuminate the paintings’ inner logic and symbolism without replacing the artist’s hand. Visitors begin with traditional canvases before moving into immersive digital extensions of them, transforming the exhibition into a journey of shifting forms, ideas, and interpretations.

“It is an honour to present my art in India—an ancient culture that has inspired me for years,” Safronov notes. “Through these exhibitions, I hope to strengthen the connection between our peoples and show that art speaks a universal language of emotion.”
Dream Vision marks the beginning of Safronov’s international exhibition programme for 2025, reflecting Russia’s broader cultural diplomacy efforts. Free and open to the public, the exhibition aims to make contemporary Russian art accessible to wider audiences in India.
