Golden glow
‘Solace’, an exhibition of sculptures, celebrates 50 years of NS Rana’s work. His recent bronzes have aspects of deity and nature which reaffirm his interest in figuration. The deity aspect represents Lord Krishna, and nature has the tree, birds and women. One of the famous series titled ‘Couple’ depicts a strong solidarity between man and woman.
The textures and sharp lines have been enhanced with recent sculptures. A shiny golden line at the edge of a few sculptures glorifies the power of love. The colour tone of the sculptures has now become a bit brighter as compared to the old works which emphasizes that he has willingness to do many bronze sculptures.
