Art Centrix Space is set to present MAGIC ERASE, a solo exhibition by Hemant Gavankar, recipient of the prestigious Art Centrix Painting Grant 2024. Curated by Sibdas Sengupta, the exhibition will be on view from April 6 to May 5 at the Gallery’s Space in Vasant Kunj.
Magic Erase delves into themes of transience, memory, and urban transformation, drawing from the evolving landscapes of Mumbai. Gavankar’s mixed-media paintings and video works explore the emotional and psychological imprints left by gentrification and societal shifts. His work oscillates between the “real” and the “hyper-real,” offering a magical realist perspective on displacement, loss, and identity in contemporary life.
