In a bid to encourage environmental-friendly mode of commute, the Rotary Club of Delhi Heights is organising a bicycle rally under the ‘Ma dharti tujhe Salaam‘ on July 16.
The flag-off time is 7 am at Tagore International School in East of Kailash. The rally will end at the same venue by 8:30 am.
The event is being organised to raise awareness about the environment.
Bicycle riding uses minimal fossil fuels and is a pollution-free mode of transport. Bikes reduce the need to build, service and dispose of cars.
It is also said that each pedalling of a cyclist somewhere in the world means a puff of air for the planet. Each meter travelled with no other help than the lungs involves one car less emitting CO₂ to the atmosphere.
Various groups of people will be participating in the rally. This includes cyclist groups, school children, fitness enthusiasts, and women from all walks of life. The purpose of this rally is to promote the importance of a healthy environment and encourage people to take care of it.
