Aamad Dance Centre, one of India’s premier integrated performing arts organisations, is pleased to present ‘Ruhaniyat’, an evening of Sufi Qalam (poetry) and Raqs (dance) on November 29, 2023 at 7:00 PM at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event is Supported by Sahitya Kala Parishad.
Ruhaniyat is an Urdu word meaning ‘Soulfulness’. It is about an expression of mystical poetry from different states of India. The presentation will be presented through Kathak, music, and mystic poetry.
The Ruhaniyat production will feature Kathak dancer Rani Khanum, accompanied by Amaan Ali (Tabla), Shuheb Hasan, Zohaib Hasan (Vocals), Bhola Kumar (Dholak), and Fateh Ali (Sitar).
The performance will showcase verses from notable poets like Surdas, Kabir, Amir Khusrau, Khwaja Usman Harooni, Fakir Baba, Azan Farid, among others, said the organisers.
“It’s a direct connection with the creator in the quest for personal enlightenment and self-realisation. Ruhaniyat invokes the elusive divinity that needs to be awakened within each one of us. In Sufism/ Bhakti, there are no barriers; it belongs to all and connects hearts and souls,” they said.
“It’s power that unites the (Murshid/ Bhakta) in a divine communion with the creator. The Ruhaniyat festival will take the audience on a journey of spiritual ecstasy,” they added.
