New Delhi’s Palette Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition titled Tales/Tails of Imagination, which explores the intersection of artistic creativity and ecological consciousness. Curated by art critic Uma Nair, the exhibition features works by artists Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna, and others. It opened on October 11 and will run until November 16.

The exhibition showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions centred on sentient beings, blending imagination with reflections on nature and the environment. Sculptor Rajesh Ram presents works in stoneware and brass, focusing on hybrid creatures that explore the relationship between humans and nature. Valay Shende’s metallic disc sculptures include a rhino and a goat, offering contemplative representations of these animals.

HG Arun addresses the extinction of elephants with a striking sculpture that emphasises the elephant’s majestic presence. The exhibition also includes thought-provoking paintings such as those by Manisha, who uses bottled creatures to comment on cruelty to animals, and R Magesh, who portrays the beauty of horses.

Curator Uma Nair describes the exhibition as “an exercise in unravelling tales of imagination while portraying the gentle characteristics of creatures recreated in various artistic mediums”.
