Nrityalaya, a distinguished institution committed to classical dance and cultural heritage, is set to unveil its latest Bharatanatyam production, Tatva Tarangam, on December 2. The performance will take place at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, starting at 7 PM.
Tatva Tarangam draws inspiration from the Panchabhuta Kritis, composed by the legendary Muttuswami Dikshitar. These timeless compositions celebrate the five elements of nature—Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth—represented by the Panchabhuta Kshetras of South India: Chidambaram, Srikalahasti, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvanaikkaval, and Kanchipuram.
Conceptualised by Sujithra Aneesh and choreographed by Acharya Aparajita Sarma, the production interweaves the mythological stories and spiritual essence of these sacred temples with the artistic expression of Bharatanatyam. “Tatva Tarangam is a homage to the symbiotic relationship between nature’s elements and divinity. Through dance, we aim to convey the profound harmony embodied in the Panchabhutas,” said Sujithra Aneesh.

The performance features senior disciples of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, including Acharya Aparajita Sarma, Saradyuthi Vadlamani, Hritika Aneesh, Kiwi Kachhwa, Kashish Sukheja, Namitha Prasad, Varsha Ullas, Arunima Nair, and Aditi Rajiv. Together, they promise to transport audiences on an evocative journey blending mythology, spirituality, and the timeless beauty of Bharatanatyam.
