The highly anticipated solo art exhibition The Journey A Full Circle by Anupam Sud opened to widespread acclaim at Palette Art Gallery. Hosted by Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi, this exhibition marks a significant milestone in the artist’s illustrious career, celebrating five decades of her artistic journey.
The exhibition, which will run until February 7, 2025, showcases over 60 works by Sud, spanning multiple periods of her evolving practice. The works displayed highlight her iconic etchings from the 1970s as well as innovative print collages created during the pandemic, offering a deep insight into her creative evolution and mastery.
Anupam Sud, one of India’s most respected contemporary artists, reflected on the transformative nature of this exhibition. “This exhibition that spans two distinct periods of my practice—the early 1970s and the more recent 2010s—comes at a transformative time when the rigours of printmaking are making it difficult for me to continue as a printmaker,” Sud shared. “It is a time to look back and reflect on how my practice, shaped by my learning of printmaking techniques, the choice of materials, and the social environment, has evolved over six decades”.

Her work, known for its raw, nuanced, and empathetic treatment of the human body, continues to engage with universal themes such as vulnerability, resilience, and self-reflection. In this exhibition, the human form remains a central motif, inviting viewers to delve into the complexities of the human experience.
Sud’s career began with her debut solo exhibition in 1967 at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi. Since then, she has been a part of numerous prestigious exhibitions, including Stree in Moscow (1988), Self and the World at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi (1997), and Colours of Independence at the NGMA (2000–2004). Her works have been featured at international platforms such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (2001), the William Benton Museum of Art in Connecticut (2013), and the Seoul International Art Fair in Korea.
