Salil Malhotra hammered two centuries while Varun Sood picked a seven-wicket haul in DDCA Hot Weather Cricket over the last week. Varun Vats, Akshay Kapoor and Ayush Chouhan were the others to take five-wicket hauls whereas Vansh Bedi scored a big ton

Super Star Club, Bank of Baroda (twice), Young Friends, York, Malik Sports, Mishra Sports and Essex Farms won their matches in the DDCA Hot Weather Cricket.

Besides Salil Malhotra, Varun Sood, Varun Vats, Akshay Kapoor, Ayush Chouhan, there were other performers like Anish Gautam, Dhananjay Singh, Yug Gupta, Devender Dhariyal, Bhupender Singh, who all took a four-wicket haul each.

Dhananjay Singh, Sahil Tada, Yug Gupta, Naman Wason, Kartik Rana, Sumit Gulia, Yaseen, Hardik Panjwani, Rishabh Rana, Nikhil Raina, Harry Kishan, Gautam Dhaiya and Aditya Chouhan scored half-centuries.

Vats’s fifer helps Super Star win

Left-arm spinner Varun Vats took a five-wicket haul (5/25) to help Super Star Club beat Essex farms by seven wickets in the DDCA Hot Weather Cricket at Modern School, Barakhamba Road.

Brief scores: Essex Farms 124 all out in 35 overs (Varun Vats 5/25) lost to Super Star Club 126/3 in 25 overs (Parth Bali 47) by seven wickets.

Malhotra ton powers Bank of Baroda

Right-handed batsman Salil Malhotra’s century (109), Anish Gautam’s 4/44 and all-round performances by Akhil Choudhary (34 and 3/34) and Varun Sood (35 and 2/14) helped Bank of Baroda beat Mishra Sports by 137 runs at the Central Secretariat grounds.

Brief scores: Bank of Baroda 303/7 in 40 overs (Salil Malhotra 109, Varun Sood 35, Akhil Choudhary 34, Dhananjay Singh 4/65) beat Mishra Sports 166 all out in 33 overs (Dhananjay Singh 63, Anish Gautam 4/44, Akhil Choudhary 3/34, Varun Sood 2/14) by 137 runs.

Young Friends triumph

Five-wicket hauls by off-spinner Akshay Kapoor (5/35) and Ayush Chouhan (5/45) helped Young Friends Club beat Little Master Club by 57 runs at the St Stephen’s grounds.

Brief scores: Young Friends Club 255 all out in 40 overs (Sahil Tada 60, Aryan Kapoor 43, Yug Gupta 4/41) beat Little Master Club 198 all out in 37 overs (Yug Gupta 71, Soham 45, Akshay Kapoor 5/35, Ayush Chouhan 5/45) by 57 runs.

Vansh’s 158 help York prevail

Century by wicketkeeper-batsman Vansh Bedi (158) and half-century by Naman Wason (72) helped York Club prevail over Young Association by 35 runs at the Central Secretariat grounds.

Brief scores: York Club 322/6 in 40 overs (Vansh Bedi 158, Naman Wason 72, Kartik Rana 2/40, Dharmender Parmar 2/55) beat Young Association 287/8 in 40 overs (Kartik Rana 77, Sumit Gulia 51, Mukul Bhardwaj 48, Aman Choudhary 3/40, Ali Zan Alam 2/60) by 35 runs.

Malik Sports defeat Citizen

Right-handed batsman Hardik Panjwani’s all-round show (80 and 3/38) and Devender Dhariyal’s 4/38 helped Malik Sports defeat Citizen CC by four wickets at the Shivaji College grounds.

Mishra Sports thrash Golden Eagle

Right-handed batsman Rishabh Rana’s 82 not out helped Mishra Sports thrash Golden Eagle Club by 111 runs at the Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce grounds.

Brief scores: Mishra Sports 229 all out in 39 overs (Rishabh Rana 82, Vishant Bhati 45, Yuvraj Singh 3/42) beat Golden Eagle 118 all out in 30 overs (Anirudh Sharma 32, Jai Singh 2/05, Vishal Kumar 2/21, Vishnu Singh 2/25) by 111 runs.

Essex Farms emerge winners

Left-arm spinner Bhupender Singh’s 4/21 and Nikhil Raina’s 82 helped Essex farms defeat MTNL by seven wickets at the Talent Hunt Academy ground.

Brief scores: MTNL 123/7 in 20 overs (Harry Kishan 50, Bhupender Singh 4/21) lost to Essex Farms 126/3 in 13.4 overs (Nikhil Raina 82, Sumit Singh 35) by seven wickets.

Sood’s 7, Malhotra’s ton help BoB crush Kranti Star

Left-arm spinner Varun Sood’s 7/39, Salil Malhotra’s 101 not out and Ekansh Chakraborty’s 94 not out helped Bank of Baroda beat Kranti Star Club by 10 wickets in DDCA Hot weather at Modern school grounds.
