Leaked software assets suggest multiple new watch faces and design refinements ahead of official announcement

With Samsung’s Unpacked event set for July 9 in New York, a recent leak has offered an early glimpse into the Galaxy Watch 8, shedding light on what to expect beyond hardware upgrades.

The leak originates from an APK teardown of the latest Galaxy Watch 7 Manager app update, which revealed several unreleased watch face assets. These visuals appear to match earlier promotional renders of the Galaxy Watch 8, lending weight to the possibility that they are part of the final design lineup.

According to reports, seven new watch faces have been identified: Minimal Analog, Minimal Digital, Sporty Classic, Heritage Classic, Interactive Number, Gradient Info Board, and Circle Info Board. The designs span a wide range of styles—clean and minimal, sporty and traditional, as well as data-rich displays—suggesting Samsung’s effort to cater to diverse user preferences.

The “Minimal” options focus on a simple, uncluttered aesthetic, while “Sporty Classic” and “Heritage Classic” channel a more conventional watch look. The “Interactive Number” watch face takes a playful, animated approach. Meanwhile, the two “Info Board” variants are designed for users who prioritise functionality, offering data-centric layouts in gradient and circular styles.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 series—along with a potential Watch 8 Ultra model—at its Unpacked keynote. Earlier leaks have hinted that the Ultra may sport a redesigned chassis with a new squircle shape, suggesting both visual and structural changes in the upcoming lineup.

While not all features discovered through app teardowns make it to launch, the consistency between these assets and previously leaked renders indicates that they could be part of the final release.
