Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 FE earlier than usual, with reports suggesting a global debut around IFA 2025

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S25 FE smartphone earlier than usual, with reports suggesting that the global unveiling may coincide with the IFA 2025 trade show in Berlin, scheduled from September 5 to 9. According to a report by 9To5Google, the device could go on sale in South Korea as early as September 19, with other markets expected to follow suit the same day.

The anticipated release timeline is notably ahead of the Galaxy S24 FE, which was launched on September 26 last year and became available in early October. Samsung recently hinted at the early arrival of the new Fan Edition during its latest earnings call, adding credibility to the reports.

In terms of design, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to follow the aesthetic of its predecessor but with some key refinements. The phone is likely to feature a slimmer and lighter frame, measuring 7.4mm in thickness and weighing 190 grams—down from 8.0mm and 213 grams on the Galaxy S24 FE. Samsung is also expected to introduce Armor Aluminium for the frame, enhancing both durability and the overall feel in hand.

Colour options for the Galaxy S25 FE are said to include black, white, light blue, and dark blue. The black and white variants may come with matching metal frames, while the blue versions could feature silver accents, giving the device a sleek and polished look.

On the hardware front, the S25 FE is expected to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor—the same chipset found in the Galaxy S24 and S24+. It will likely be offered in two configurations: one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, providing smooth visuals and a vibrant viewing experience. The screen is also likely to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for added durability.

In the camera department, the Galaxy S25 FE is rumoured to feature a triple-lens rear setup. This may include a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3x zoom with OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The front-facing camera is expected to be a 12-megapixel shooter with autofocus, making it suitable for selfies and video calls.

Battery life could also see a modest improvement. The S25 FE is tipped to include a 4,900mAh battery, slightly larger than the 4,700mAh unit in the previous model. Fast charging support may be upgraded to 45W via wired connection, with 15W wireless charging also expected.

On the software side, the device is likely to ship with Android 15-based One UI 7. Samsung is also expected to continue its commitment to long-term software support, with the S25 FE reportedly set to receive seven years of Android OS and security updates.

While Samsung has yet to officially confirm the launch date, all indications suggest that the Galaxy S25 FE will make its debut in September, positioning it as one of the most anticipated Fan Edition releases in recent years.
