A fire broke out in an eight-storey residential apartment building in Dwarka Sector 5 here on Monday, an official of the Delhi Fire Services said.
A call regarding the incident was received at around 7.30 am, following which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot, the official said.
No casualties or damage to household items were reported in the incident, the official said.
Three members of a family — P Sengupta (65), SS Sengupta (60), and Gaurab Sengupta (22) — were rescued from the upper floors of the building, the officer said.
The fire is suspected to have originated due to a short circuit in the building’s chimney shaft.
