Two juveniles held for burglary at church in northwest Delhi

Two juveniles were apprehended after allegedly breaking into a church in Pitampura and stealing brass items and a computer monitor

Two juveniles were apprehended for allegedly burgling a church in Pitampura area of northwest Delhi, with police recovering stolen brass articles and a computer monitor, an officer said on Tuesday.

The burglary took place during the intervening night of July 8 and 9 at Mukti Aradhanalaya Church in Pitampura. According to the police, the accused broke the iron grill of the church’s main gate, trespassed into the premises and stole church property.

An FIR was registered following a complaint by the church caretaker. During the investigation, police analysed CCTV footage, leading to the apprehension of the two juveniles.

Based on their disclosure, police recovered eight brass articles, including candle stands, and a damaged computer monitor allegedly stolen from the church. Police said efforts are underway to recover the remaining stolen property and apprehend another person involved in the burglary.
