The Old Rao Tula Ram flyover, the major connecting route from the airport to the city, will reopen for light vehicles from Monday evening, PWD Minister Parvesh Verma said.
The Public Works Department Minister (PWD) Verma who inspected the project site along with officials said the repair work is complete. The flyover was closed on October 20 due to cracks on the road.
“The necessary repair work has been completed, and the flyover will be reopened for light vehicles starting this evening. A comprehensive structural audit is also underway to ensure the strength and long-term safety of this flyover, which was constructed in 2009,” Verma said in a post on X.

The Old Rao Tula Ram (RTR) flyover carriageway towards the IGI Airport from Vasant Vihar had been closed after the Delhi Traffic Police detected cracks in the road at two locations.
Due to the repair work, vehicles were diverted to the adjoining service road, causing traffic congestion and long queues behind the flyover.
Inspection showed deteriorating concrete in the gap slab section, cracks on the road and exposed iron rods. Traffic had been temporarily halted here for safety reasons, the PWD Minister added.
