In the Prem Nagar area of Outer Delhi, a 25-year-old man named Ajeet succumbed to injuries after being fatally beaten for refusing to purchase more alcohol for his friends on Monday.
The authorities have apprehended three individuals, including a history sheeter, in connection with Ajeet’s death, and a juvenile has also been taken into custody.
The incident occurred on Sunday near Ram Leela Maidan in Agar Nagar, where Ajeet was socializing with friends. The situation escalated when his companions asked him to acquire additional alcohol, which he declined. Allegedly, the three assailants adorned bracelets on their fists and mercilessly assaulted him.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini-1), Pankaj Kumar, revealed, “We came to know that he was brutally thrashed using bracelets which resulted in severe injuries on Ajeet’s body and resulted in his death.”
The Prem Nagar Police Station received a PCR call concerning the incident, leading to the filing of an FIR. The police subsequently arrested three individuals, identified as Durgesh Kumar (18), Pawan Kumar (21), and Pravesh (18), with Durgesh being implicated in two separate theft cases. A juvenile was also apprehended in connection with the crime.
Investigations revealed that the group had been consuming alcohol, and Ajeet’s refusal to purchase more triggered their anger. In a fit of rage, they assaulted Ajeet using bracelets, causing significant injuries that ultimately led to his demise, according to the Additional DCP.
