Delhi Police busts inter-state gun syndicate, 18 arrested in month-long operationThe Delhi Police has dismantled an inter-state gun dealing syndicate and arrested 18 gang members following a month-long operation, officials said on Monday.
The police recovered a variety of weapons and ammunition during the operation, which was named ‘Eagle’. The haul included four semi-automatic pistols, eight country-made pistols, one country-made rifle, three knives, and 33 live bullets.
The arrested individuals were allegedly linked to over 50 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, dacoity, robbery, extortion, burglary, theft, as well as violations of the Arms Act and the Gangster Act.
Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Devesh Chandra Srivastava, stated, “The operation, named ‘Eagle’, was initiated to target gunrunners operating in Delhi and NCR.”
The operation began after the arrest of two men, Arshad and Mohammad Suleman, in Ghazipur during a raid, where a gun, three live bullets, three knives, and a stolen car were seized.

“During their interrogation, the two men disclosed the identities of several other gang members involved in the procurement and sale of weapons in Delhi-NCR to various criminals. Multiple teams were formed to investigate the entire network and arrest all those involved,” Srivastava added.
The police conducted raids at several locations, apprehending an additional 16 individuals connected to the ‘Madan gang’.

The arrested individuals admitted to their involvement in the illegal procurement and distribution of weapons in Delhi-NCR, according to Srivastava. The gang’s leader, Madan, was also arrested at Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he was allegedly running the syndicate.
