Quick commerce platform Blinkit has launched a 10-minute ambulance service in select areas of Gurugram as a pilot project, the company announced on Thursday.
According to a company statement, users can access the option to call for an ambulance directly through the Blinkit app.
“These ambulances will carry essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AEDs (automated external defibrillators), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and critical emergency medicines and injections. Additionally, they will have a scoop stretcher and a wheelchair for safely transporting patients,” the statement added.
Each ambulance will be staffed with a paramedic, a duty assistant, and a trained driver.
The service, currently available in Gurugram, will soon be rolled out to other areas.

“We are taking our first step toward addressing the challenge of providing quick and reliable ambulance services in urban areas. Starting today, the first five ambulances will be operational in Gurugram,” Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared in a post on X.

Dhindsa also outlined plans to expand the initiative to major cities within the next two years, emphasizing that profit is not the goal. “This service will be offered at an affordable cost to customers, and we are committed to solving this critical issue in the long term,” he stated.
