Comic Con 2022 was bigger, better and blockbuster

Comic Con returned to Delhi after a gap of two years due to the widespread Covid-19 outbreak, and according to fans, the wait was worth every bit.

The first thing that comes to one’s mind with ‘Comic Con’, is characters, costumes, and superheroes from the animation and comic world. However, this year, there was more to it.

Comic Con 2022 featured artificial intelligence, a gaming zone rewarding prizes up to Rs 25,000, exclusive show clips from Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Avatar and the funky 360 camera that kept the audience hooked.

People showed up in the costumes of their favourite characters from movies, comics, video games, and novels, flaunting merchandise and free goodies. On all three days, Delhiites showed up in large numbers, taking the count of visitors to 45,000, making this year’s edition a grand success.

This year Comic Con completed 10 years in India. Back in 2011, a group decided to organise their own comic conventions to save the cost of travelling abroad to attend one. Thus, ‘Comic Con India’ was born and has been running successfully since.

This is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the whole comic industry and adjacent sectors to celebrate the illustrated medium. With each passing year, the Comic Con fever is only growing stronger and spreading to multiple cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
