Cop, his wife shot at in Delhi

A 35-year-old head constable of the Delhi Police and his wife were attacked by unidentified individuals in the Burari area of north Delhi, according to the police.
Police said that the incident occurred around 9.45 pm on Friday while the head constable, who was assigned to the special cell unit of the city police, was walking with his wife.
During the attack, the assailants stole the constable’s mobile phone and approximately Rs 4,000 in cash. The head constable sustained an injury to his stomach, while his wife was injured near her chin. Fortunately, both individuals are currently in stable condition and not in immediate danger, they said.

In response to the incident, the police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They are actively reviewing the CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the perpetrators involved in the attack. Investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident and to ensure the safety of the victims, said the police. (With inputs from PTI)
