Delhi Police issue traffic advisory for Beating Retreat ceremony; check details

The Delhi Police has implemented comprehensive traffic arrangements for the Beating Retreat ceremony scheduled at Vijay Chowk on Monday, according to officials.

The Beating Retreat ceremony signifies the formal conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations.

In an advisory released on Friday, the police stated that traffic restrictions will be enforced from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday, with Vijay Chowk being closed to traffic during this period.

Traffic will be prohibited on Rafi Marg between the Sunehri Masjid roundabout and Krishi Bhawan roundabout, Raisina Road from Krishi Bhawan roundabout towards Vijay Chowk, beyond Dara Shikoh roundabout, Krishna Menon Marg roundabout, and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk, as per the advisory.

Furthermore, traffic will be limited on Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and ‘C’ hexagon.

Commuters are advised to consider alternative routes such as Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madrasa T-Point, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, and Minto Road.

Buses will be rerouted from their usual paths from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday to facilitate the movement of invitees and spectators, thereby avoiding traffic congestion near the ceremony venues and India Gate.

For those interested in witnessing the illumination at Vijay Chowk after 7 pm, parking will be available between Rafi Marg and ‘C’ Hexagon.

The public and motorists are urged to exercise patience, adhere to traffic regulations and road discipline, and comply with the directions provided by traffic personnel stationed at all intersections.
