Delhi experienced a warm start to the day on Thursday, with the minimum temperature rising to 25.7 degrees Celsius — 4.1 degrees above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This marks the second-highest minimum temperature recorded in the city this season, just behind April 10, when the mercury had dipped no lower than 25.9 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels were recorded at 47 per cent at 8:30 am.
The weather office has predicted strong surface winds and a partly cloudy sky throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 40 degrees Celsius.
At 9 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 187, placing the capital’s air in the ‘moderate’ category, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered ‘moderate’, while anything beyond 200 moves into the ‘poor’ category.
On Wednesday, Delhi recorded a high of 39.1 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 degrees above normal for this time of year.

The minimum temperature stood at 23.4 degrees Celsius — 1.8 degrees above average. Humidity levels on Wednesday were 50 per cent in the morning and dipped to 34 per cent by evening.
